Welcome from the President

Welcome to the Kentucky Society for Clinical Social Work!
My name is Andrea “Andi” Sparrow, LCSW, and I have worked in social work for over 16 years. My experience includes working in community mental health, foster care,  , and higher education.
When asked, “Why did you become a member?” I respond with one word….
CONNECTION.
I became a KSCSW member in 2019 because I needed a meaningful connection with other practitioners, and I have been an active board member since 2022. KSCSW members are connected in so many ways!
We are connected by:
  • Networking with other clinicians and community partners.
  •  Establishing supportive relationships with other practitioners.
  •  Engaging in social activities (e.g., trivia nights, nature walks, etc.).
  • Attending continuing educational events to advance our clinical skills.
  • Advocating for systemic changes at the state and national levels.
KSCSW members can actively participate in the following:
  • Monthly board meetings
  • Various committees, such as membership, education, DEIB, etc.
  • KSCSW-sponsored CEU events
  • Membership Drives
  • Social Work Lobby Day
Your membership dues help advance KSCSW’s efforts to complete the goals outlined in our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan. Some of those goals include increasing opportunities for cohesion and connection with Kentucky clinicians and community partners, ensuring that all KSCSW activities are carried out with a focus on supporting under-represented groups, increasing online CEUs, and enhancing opportunities to learn about advocacy opportunities and improving advocacy skills.
I am excited about what we will accomplish together over the next two years!
Please do not hesitate to contact any board member with questions, concerns, or ideas.

Kind regards,
Andi Sparrow, LCSW
KSCSW President
