Kate Mitchum

Kate (she/her) is a Certified Social Worker with professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma and a strong background in change management, communications, and project management across nonprofit and corporate settings. She recently earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and completed her social work practicum with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently pursuing a career as a mental health therapist, Kate is motivated by social justice and inspired by the legacy of Ida B. Wells. Born and raised in Lexington, Kate earned her Bachelor of Science at Northwestern University and then spent several years in California before returning to her hometown, where she is dedicated to advancing the social work profession and serving her community. In her spare time, Kate enjoys karaoke, traveling, spending time in nature, meditating, and visiting with friends and family.
