About

Tomeika S. (Leavell) Reeves, MSSW, LCSW was born and raised in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. She is a therapist and in private practice with Leavell Counseling, LLC, which she founded in 2019. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) both at the University of Louisville in 2001 and 2005, respectively. She furthered her ability to practice by obtaining her Clinical License to practice Social Work from the State of Virginia Board of Social Work in 2015. Upon returning to her home state, she obtained her Clinical License to practice Social Work from the State of Kentucky Board of Social Work in 2017 and from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA) in 2021. Tomeika is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP), Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP), Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and a Trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Clinician. Tomeika provides clinical consultation, and will begin providing clinical supervision in 2026. She is a member of the Kentucky Society for Clinical Social Work (KSCSW), Clinical Social Work Association (CSWA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and received an Advanced Psychotherapy Certification from Wayne Institute in 2019. In addition, she is a contract Employee Assistant Program (EAP) clinician for Wayne Corporation, working primarily with the students at Sullivan University, and previously served as an Adjunct Professor and Field Education Liaison for master-level online social work students through Simmons University, School of Social Work, a university based in Boston, Massachusetts. Tomeika has worked with children and adolescents in residential treatment facilities and foster care for several years, and transitioned to working with adults--primarily Black women--who have and are navigating through adverse experiences and life transitions. Her professional background has afforded her a myriad of clinical experiences across multiple settings all with the focus of supporting and empowering youth, adults, families and communities within areas of relationships, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and trauma. Tomeika has a passion for learning and utilizing her experience and newfound knowledge to serve others. In her personal time, she enjoy volunteering, watching and attending sporting events, singing/listening to music, reading and spending quality time with quality people.
